After 50 years, one of the world’s most important congresses on Hispanic studies returns to its place of origin: thus, the 25th International Congress of the German Association of Hispanists (DHV) will be held from March 9 to 13, 2027, at the UniverCity of Augsburg, under the theme “Transatlantic Hispanism: Relations – Worlds – Pathways.”

Due to the great interest generated and in celebration of the anniversary, a call for papers is being issued across a total of 25 sections from the fields of linguistics, literary, cultural, and media studies, foreign language pedagogy and subject didactics, & cet. whose work will be complemented by cross-cutting keynote lectures (Cristina Rivera Gaza & Hans-Ulrich Gumbrecht), forums, and a corresponding cultural program.

Proposals for the sections may be submitted until August 18, 2026, directly via email to the respective section addresses, using the central template provided for this purpose.

Specific questions regarding each section should be directed to the section’s direction; organizational questions about the conference may be addressed anytime to the organizing team at hispaux27@philhist.uni-augsburg.de.

On behalf of the German Association of Hispanists (DHV) and the section chairs, we look forward to receiving thought-provoking paper proposals and inspiring in-person meetings next March in Augsburg. Auf bald!
